I got a wild hair up my rear end last week and finally got around to processing some shots that I took back in June while at the beach from the week when I shot with Steve. Here's a few additional shots I processed from the other I posted in the Royal Bling thread.
yes these first 3 all have bling too :D

Man I've been wanting an Oystercatcher like that. What is the background in the photo? You almost have it blurred out, but something is out there.
I finally get your bling comment. Duh.. The first three photos have birds wearing jewelry, they've got bands around their legs. Sometimes it takes me a while to catch on!
Love that the photos are all close to or at eye level with the birds. That makes all the difference in the world.

Thanks Joe!
It's a house  I felt it was blurred enough to get by with it as is but I guess with some time and effort I could make it all go away. I got into position and the bird moved so that I couldn't keep the house out of the background. I've got others of the Oystercatchers I need to go through. Most of them are just shots of them standing in different postures. Not entirely what I was after but I was very pleased to be this close to them and get the opportunity to photograph them.

Great shots Squatty.
Skimmers always seem to have an over abundance of personality. That shot captures all their personalities.
The double banded bird is a Caspian Tern but the others are Royals.

Yes I thought it was a Caspian too. I reported the band but never heard anything out of the USGS  maybe they didn't like the fact that I disagree with their description on Black Ducks! :D

Great set Scott. It's about time, what are ya waitin' for Christmas?
Well at least you'll have something to process until spring comes around. I'll be looking for your 2010 series in about a year. :D

Well I'm glad you did process them. They're great shots! I hope you start processing some waterfowl shots soon since they seem to be in season ;).

That first one in the 2nd group is pretty cool with the mouths open like that.

Super series Scott. I love terns and skimmers. Something about that sharp black and white with the bright pop of color. I still haven't manged to get any good pictures of them though. Maybe I need to schedule more vacation time at the coast.
