...for this flatlander! Our daughter is at App State so a few weeks, we took my son back to school in Chapel Hill and then drove on up to Boone to visit the rest of our money. While up in Boone, I manager to pull the camera out one time and that was for a sunrise at Beacon Heights along the Blue Ridge Parkway. This time of year, where the sun rises is not ideal but I thought it was worth a shot. The sunrise didn't work out so well:mad: This was an "alternative" shot...trying to make some lemonade out of a lemon morning. I'm interested in others opinion of this wide angle scene...

Awesome Skip! Man you get an A+ on this one! I'd say "Nat Geo" quality on the fine job on the P/P with all of the lovely shape, color and detail in this. I'm a stickler for this in Landscapes and this one is just flat lovely and very pleasing to view! Your DOF is optimum here...Well Done!!!!

Not bad at all. I really like that you included the foreground vegetation. The image has a wide variety of depth, the foreground vegetation, the rocky mountain side, the trees, then the far off background mountains.

It's a worthy shot. Great layers and textures with an intersting foreground. It might be a good candidate for a B&W conversion.

The thing that really strikes me is the warm sun and the cold mountains. It's unusual to see both in a single photo.
