:D

Couple of years ago, I attended my first CNPA meeting in Charleston, SC. Had a great time. There was a sign-up sheet to visit the Center for Avian Conservation - Birds of Prey on the last day of the meeting and I was fortunate enough to get on the list. Aside from suffering from lens-envy, it was a blast and gave me a lot of respect for bird photographers! Here is pictorial proof that Canon is for the birds...

Just kidding about the camera brand, of course!;) I'm not a big fan of captive animals but these birds, even though some could fly, were unable to survive in their natural habitats...

The one with the hawk on the flash and the second with the one on the tripod is one for the scrapbook. Not too many folks are going to have an experience like that!

Of those two I really like the second. That could be in a photography publication. Pretty much shows all the photo gear but with the hawk... and the hawk is looking at the camera.

You should get a model release from the fellow behind the camera. I assume that is not you and that you are taking the shot.

Yea, I'd like to know who the guy is in #2! He's a CNPA'er but that's all I know for certain. The first picture was funny...this scene lasted all of a second. The tripod collar wasn't locked and when the bird landed, the camera and flash began to rotate. Had no clue anything came out until that evening.

Very cool shots! Those 1st two are such cool shots. I might of freaked out if that thing had landed on my gear with me behind it.

I've got to get me one of those Sidekicks very soon! No, I'm not talking about the Hawk :p
