From this morning's hike. I think I covered about 2 miles before heading back... though I can't say for sure as the batteries gave out on my GPS. It's last report was 1.76 miles... my pedometer said something in excess of 2 miles but isn't the most accurate device. There is a shelter at 2.2 miles which I was short of but I know I was in the vicinity. Canon 40D, 100mm macro lens, tripod, cable release.

Neat! I love this stuff! Great Images Bob!
Did you see my fungi posts over in "Flora"? I included flowers so I put them in that forum.

Thaks Jim. I remember the post though I might have forgot to comment. I tend to look, go away then come back and comment. Sometimes I miss the "come back and comment" step. For some reason I'm always drawn to mushrooms and toad stools. I find them interesting subjects. (My wife never quite "gets" the 'shroom photos. ;) )
Great job Bob! Sharp as a tack!
Thanks much.

I totally love the highlights you have on the mushroom tops in the last two images (# 5 and #6). The highlights add a feeling of depth (3D) to the shape of the mushroom. Very nice.
At the same time, I dislike the blown-out highlights in the background of the 2nd and 4th images. They are a distraction for me.
