Plus a friend or 2. These were all taken today. The wind was gusting throughout the morning and made for some nice hairdos. The Tri-Colored(?) Heron was taking some shelter from the cattails. And then had a Very unexpected visitor. This Bald Eagle made about a 5 second appearance. I was lucky to get this shot. Critiques are more than welcome.

I really enjoy and appreciate how close to eye level you got with the Hooded Mergansers. Great background on those 3 shots too.

I have got to ask. Were you actually in the water when you took the hoodie shots, or were you sitting on the bank, or were you in a boat? Surely you weren't standing on the bank to get such great low angle shots.

Hooded Mergansers are some of my favorite waterfowl.

Thank you, jc. I was partially in the water for these. I had on waders and plenty of camo and sat down at the edge of the water with me feet in. Sometimes though, I got a little too low and had some freezing water come in on the back side. Not a lot, but enough to make it cold.

Oh my goodness - that last shot of the two merganser drakes is awesome and I don't mean a little bit awesome.

Fantastic series Richard. The angle on the Hoodies is perfect.

Those are great Richard! I love the "low" perspective as well.

Thanks, rubber, steve and arts. I was about as low as I could get for these. Sometimes too low

Getting low and a little damp really paid off. These are great Richard.
