Taken off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia during the spring. I wasn't there looking for vireos, but the opportunity came up.

As an afterthought photo, I think it turned out ok.

Nice shot, Joe. I like it a lot. Good comp and creamy bokeh.

Great capture of a beautiful bird I've not seen yet. AND you got him to turn back towards the camera! Very nice!

Joe, very nice. Most all the good comments have been taken but I have one more. I like that you got the tail and head on the same side of the limb. Love it.

Joe,

As much as I admire Steve for all his Shore Bird work and all his time he spends belly down in the sand, I admire your work on these little birds, especially the Warblers. This shot of the Vireo is right there with all all your Warbler work. You really do a fine job capturing these little guys and gals and it is a pleasure getting to see them in your work.

Thank you for sharing!

This is a dream shot with the position of the bird, the perfect blue-gray cast to the head, the yellow flanks in sharp focus, the bokeh.

Belongs in a how-to book on photographing small birds!

Everyone made such nice comments about the Blue-headed vireo. I thought I would show you what 80% of my passerine bird photos look like.

I would consider this an abstract. You will note the Prairie Warbler's side markings (black stripes on yellow) in the middle of the photo. I do think I got a leg too.

I will probably crop and enter in some prestigious photography contest. Maybe someone will think it is art.

Very Nice! The neutral BG really sets off the very subtle colors on this one.

Very pretty shot Joe, this is one I've never seen in the wild. Beautiful bird in a clean background and you timed the shot just right.
