Still working through Thursday morning's trip to the reserve. I found some horses on, of all places, Horse Island. Honestly I've always kind of chuckled at the name as I'd never seen horses on it before. I can't say that any more. Canon 40D, Sigman 50-500mm, hand held from the kayak.

Looks like you had a good morning for horses. I like the first one in particular. That out of focus foreground grass adds a sort of dreamy feeling to it for some reason. I know that sounds odd, but that's the feeling I get on that one. The others are tack sharp portraits.

More Goodies from Wrangler Bob!
I'm very partial to the 3rd and 4th for the more "attentive" poses!

Bob, I think all of these look good. But the one out of the eight I would definitely want on my wall as a framed picture is the 1st image. I love that one, even with the horizon in the middle of the frame. I love the blurred foreground, that gives it just a tad of dreaminess. I also where you positioned the subject in the frame. For me the framing for the subject is just right. That image has a story quality to it, while the other images don't (at least from my perspective). And I think most of my reason for me feeling that way is how you framed it and the space you have around the subject. I know I only represent myself, but I think the first image is right on ... just the way I would want it. If I was going to change anything, I might clone out that one blurry grass blade in front of the chest. But even with it, I love that image.
