A buzzard was circling and this little owl must have thought it was a hawk or eagle. Took this a couple years ago on Cape Coral Island.

I'll echo what I said about Joe's deer shot (doe) he just posted for this shot. Super job Robert! AWESOME detail in the eyes man!
Hey, did you ever go shoot the Kites this past summer?

Hey, did you ever go shoot the Kites this past summer?
Not this year, I was working 50 hours a week and was too wasted. Planning on going this year, I'll let you know.

I don't think anybody went. I asked Don too and he said he didn't go either. Oh well we have something to look forward to for next year.

Remarkably sharp and very well done. What focal length were you using for this shot?

I can only echo the praises above. Tack sharp, great color and a beauty of a subject. Tough to beat that combo. :D Great shot Robert.

Most of the time I shoot I'm using the 500mm. Everything from butterflies to mammals. I need to use some of the other lenses I have.
In this case I was using the 500mm and a 1.4x TC.

Ah, an old friend. I have seen this one before. The yellow in the eyes make this shot. Along with the nice detail you got around the beak and face.

Very nice! I agree with the other comments - the eyes have it here.
