This past summer I was fortunate enough to come across a single Hudsonian Godwit. It had teamed up with a group of Willet and blended pretty well from a distance. It led me around for a good while, following the Willet as they would move. Finally the group realized I didn't mean them any harm and stayed put long enough for me to get some shots.

Great catch. I've never seen one.
The bokeh on all of them is stunning.

Thanks RH, I hope you find one someday. They are really something in breeding color, unfortunately we aren't likely to see that here.

Thanks Scott, boy do I have you snowed. :D I just went through some Pelican shots from yesterday, they'd change your mind. I do more than my share of "what the *#@$!! were you doin" just about every time I go through my cards. Somehow those never make it to posting...

Love that first one. Great feather detail and bokeh. Also like the fact that the bird is 'talking' or 'yawning'.
The other one I really enjoyed seeing was the third photo where the bird has the wings spread. While the animal is not looking toward the camera, the photo shows the nice color and pattern on the bird's wings. The angle of the spread and how you framed it works out nicely too.
#1 and #3 are great shots as far as I am concerned.

Tremendous series, I love them all. If Scott doesn't take up all of your weekends, I'd be available to fill in for him sometime.

Thanks Robert. Unfortunately I only get to shoot alongside Scott once a year, but am working on changing that to maybe two or three times. I think I'd be the student on a day out with you, your gallery rocks. I need to explore some locations out of town, maybe for a day trip. Let me know if you have any locations of interest, I'm hoping for an extended Florida trip in the spring.
