Was hoping to get some opinions about the wildlifesouth logo. Which do you prefer, the New one or the Old one?

Specifically wondering about the left 'WildlifeSouth logo' images. The right hand side images (moon on new or gradient on old) can and will be changed later.

I like the new one much better. The only thing about the old one that is eye-catching is the bi-colored font of "WildlifeSouth".

It's Dark vs. Plain Jane

Normally I'm not a very big fan of dark but in this case I like. Its not overdone or too dark it works very well. Another vote for the new one

I like it, Joe. I don't mind the old logo but I think the new one pops more. I also really like the addition of the moon and birds image over the gradient. Those two elements work really well and tie in nicely with the images underneath.

Joe, might I suggest placing a small black border at the bottom of the logo. As it is now, it seems to allow much of the photos a bit of disconnect from the whole header itself, almost as if they are being hung from a single stranded band from the top of the logo window. I took the liberty, I hope you don't mind as this is only a suggestion, not implying it would be an improvement.

We might could try a two tone WildlifeSouth with this one too. Not sure it would work, when I have time I might submit another post with both versions.

I am not a fan of dark colored websites for sure. But since this is just a logo and doesn't take up too much website real estate I think it is ok. Probably the same thing you were thinking.

I think the new one pops more too, it also looks a lot sharper. The old one, depending on the monitor, looks blurry to me.

I don't mind your suggestion at all, in fact I relish this kind of feedback. I see exactly what you mean. By having a border on the bottom it kind of frames the photos between the top logo banners and the bottom black banner.

It looks good that way. The only thing I am concerned about is the screen real estate (from an initial viewing standpoint). On a 1024 x 768 screen resolution it pushes the actual forum down even further. I was already worried about widening the top banner. Not sure about an added bottom banner that pushes the forum down even further.

I'll have to think about it.

By the way...

You can thank Steve_E for the new logo design. He's the one who actually created it.

Thanks so much for the help Steve.

Yes Joe that's what I meant. I'll add that I'd leave it as is though and I wouldn't add more to it as suggested. IMO it's just too much. Steve did a great job on this, Thanks Steve!
