Just found this site thanks to Randy Lawson. Looking forward to seeing some great shots. These were taken in Cades Cove back near the vistors center this past October. - SandyLee

Pretty cool Sandy. My first impression was that the turkeys were strutting, displaying their stuff. But I always think of Wild Turkeys doing that in the spring not in October. So you got some nice 'fluff'.

I like the second photo's warm colors. I think the visitor center and the area/fields where they keep the horses is one of the best places to photograph wild turkeys at Cades Cove.

Very nice Sandy. I was at Cades Cove in Sept and again in Dec but all the turkeys I saw were nose down in the grass. These are more interesting than any of my turkey shots.

Welcome Sandy!

Just behind waterfowl turkeys are my favorite. I'll spend a lot of time each spring. These are some nice shots and those are two stud gobblers. Glad you found the site Sandy and look forward to more from you.

JC - These guys were "preening" not strutting. I sent my dog around the back of them in order to get both the heads up at the same time. - SandyLee
