My wife and I went to the mountains this past week to see the snow. The parkway was still closed and it was next to impossible to pull off anywhere due to the snow levels on the sides of the road. It made it difficult to find the right angle for what I was trying to take images of. Here is shot taken on Hwy 221 just before the gate to the Grandfather Mnt

This shot was taken from Hwy 105 in the church parking lot across from the private golf club. . I may have made these two a bit large. These are the first two I have ever posted on a website in this manner. I have always attached a link to my shutterfly page.

Wow, I wish I have gotten up there to see the snow. Mountians plus snow equals beautiful scenery. Too bad the parkway was closed, though I think that is standard for about any decent snowfall. Looks like you got to see some really beautiful areas regardless of the parkway closure. Glad you posted these.

I really like these sceens! I wish I weren't so busy this time of year and would love to be able to go shoot the snow and mountains.

It appears that your first image is a bit soft. What f-stop were you shooting?

It' really a beautiful sceen and your eye definitely picked up the beauty that was there.

Great shots, wish I could have made a trip last weekend to see the snow. We haven't had a decent snow in several years around my neck of the woods.

Thanks. The image is soft. It comes down to my technical use of my camera. I believe it came down to camera shake. Looking at my camera metadate is was f25 and my shutter speed ended up with 1/60 sec. with a focal length of 60mm. I hand held the camera in the middle of the road. My big problem is that I need to slow down when taking photos and stop and think of my shot before pushing that button.

For sure I will be submitting photos for comments and I know with your feedback I hope to take them to the field and come back with a better image.:)

I am going to try a panorama shot and see how it looks on line.

Randy, put that camera on at tripod! Landscapes and tripods go hand in hand! ;)
