Color image converted to B/W. First image on the site. Nice to be able to post some hand of man shots.

Hey Jim. Nice work. You metered this scene well. No blown out highlights and almost all the shadows have detail. The small area of the arch shadow is the darkest and much of that still has faint detail.
Your composition is good. The photo is interesting to look at. For me I started looking at the arches and brick detail, then the wood detail, then to the canon at the back of the photo. Made my eyes move around. Neat stuff.
I am guessing those circular patterns on the floor must have been where swivel mounts for large guns were located.

The history, the terror, the blood shed, the cheers, the sadness, the victory, and the defeat. All of that is what I think of when I see these type of images and when I visit these locations. I agree with Joe on this one very well captured. Great Job!

Reminds me alot of a favorite childhood stomp of mine...Ft. Sumter in Charleston. Between 1st and 7th grade we must have taken at least a dozen field trips there. Really nice detailed B&W and a great comp to include the arches.

Jim,
Welcome to WildlifeSouth, great 1st post. I visited Fort Pulaski before I took up photography, looks like it's time for another visit.

I really like this photo a lot. The perspective, the detail, the arches, and even the B&W conversation. I am a color person, most of the time. Could you tell more about the lens that you used and the settings?
