Alaska!
A scenic shot along the Seward Highway heading (I guess it's) South out of Anchorage. I would have loved to have been able to make the entire drive down to Seward but it just wasn't part of the plans. There were other more important things on the agenda.
Enjoy! and Happy New Year to all!

Very, very nice. Did you use a GND filter? I would like to see a little more color on the right side. It's very nice as is.

Sandy, I was gonna ask you about that comment!!!!!!!:p "Me No Comprende"
Darn Scott! You got a little "artist" in you after all! A+++ for all of that beautiful shape and detail throughout the entire image spectrum. Even the slightly blown highlight looks good...uh well great and adds that little touch of shimmer to make this look real and all natural! I can see goodies in even the deepest shadow! The composition on this is up with the best I've seen in a long time especially with the suns position on the horizon!
This has got to be the best landscape you have ever produced, not to mention one of the best I've seen in a long long time!
May I ask waht lens was used. "Inquiring minds want to know"
You know I like this image as I'm usually growling at you! (clap clap clap)

Ummmmm WOW! I wasn't expecting that kind of a response Jim! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I was using the 17-40mmL lens with a B+W CircPol I don't have a GND filter but oh how I would LOVE one!
It was -4 degrees with a nice stiff wind coming off the bay, my tripod's legs were freezing up so quick that I would have to put it back in the car to thaw them out so I could adjust. It was such a beautiful drive I wish I had more time.
I absolutely LOVE Alaska!

I think you meant to say "left side" Sandy. The right side is the one that has the most color. Don't fret, I make the same mistake all the time ... is it camera right or subject right.

Beautiful lighting and very dramatic clouds. Lots of fun detail and no blocked up shadows.
As Jim noted, probably the only thing to critique would be the blown out areas. I would be ok with the blown out sun, hey it's the sun. But I think pulling back a little on the sun reflections on the snow would make this one of the most perfect landscapes I have seen in a while. Still great (and better than any of mine) as it is now though.
Awesome capture Scott.

WOW, Scott. Top photo I've ever seen from you, or close to it. Absolutely love this one. HDR I assume? Or straight CPL?
