Well, the winter is more like summer at the moment and its all but ruined our predator hunting. So... going back through the album and recalling some great hunts from the last few winters fit the bill. Some gorgeous country and great looking song dogs that the ranchers were very thankful to get rid of!

Beautiful area. I miss it.

Spot and stalk on a coyote we caught chasing mice up a valley and had no clue.... 293 yard standing shot.

Great looking silver coyote, shot on a dead run at 90 yards after he winded me.

This female taken litterally right between the cow pastures. The rancher told us we NEEDED to call from his cows, but just be careful.... Ugh! But, he was right, she came on a dead run to the call, stopping long enough to try and figure out how to negotiate the fence, and I took the shot then before she could get into the cows.

One more... I am not as fat as this makes me look... I had extra clothes, face mask, gloves, handwarmers etc shoved inside my bibs. It was brutally, brutally cold this morning. Bare skin exposed froze in a matter of seconds. Caught this massive female sleeping on a hillside guarding a fresh goat kill. The rancher was TICKED beyond ticked when we showed him the fresh kill of his kids 4H project. In a matter of a week he had lost 4 goats. This female was very likely the cause of all of them.

Love the snow covered hills backdrop on the first image. Fits perfectly with the cold weather gear you guys are wearing.

Thanks fellas. I usually save one hide or a skull each year if it is a good/different colored coat. The nice silver you see in the photo, I wanted to save and tan that one bad, but, unfortunately, the rifle/bullet combo I typically use tears them up kinda bad. I have had skulls that I had bleached and thats kind of a different momento of the hunt too. They look kind of neat on the bookshelf in the office. Mostly we turn the yotes in for bounty, and then sell the hide to furbuyers.
I wish I could go tonight. A friend just called.... he had a friend that called in 2 speratate packs at the same time, and he said it was so cool to see, he couldnt even shoot! I just have to much work to do to be out playing at 0200 in the moonlight! Ugh!

sounds like a neat way to spend the early morning hours heck my dogs seem to wake me up lately around two anyway or maybe i should blame my boy for coming home to late:D

Good stuff Mark. A different gun for every day of the week - perfect.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments. Rubber- I do use a variety as you noticed. It all depends on how we are hunting and what the wind is doing. If the wind is blowing anything over 15 mph or if I just plain expect long shots, I use the T3 heavy, in .308. Aside from that, I try to use a different one on each hunt just for the fun of it I guess. I just like to shoot.
I am hoping to go out tonight if there is any moonlight left and enough snow to be able to see. Tonight may be a shotgun night... we will see!
